The Koreatown Youth and Community Center (KYCC) gave out free trees during Wilshire Center’s 2009 Earth Day / Car Free Day celebration held between Oxford and Serrano on Wilshire Boulevard.
There was this large truck that looked as if it had been full of chest-high trees in bags. By the time I got there at 11:20 or so, the truck was close to empty! The ajosshi and ajumma got their trees! Video hosted on Blogger.
Among the other highlights of the celebration: band playing on the stage right in front of the Wilshire Park Place building (where Radio Korea is located), the farmers market, and a Kids Zone with a story teller (English!) and face painting.
