Aio Coffee Shop in Koreatown

Aio Coffee Shop in Koreatown

I’ve always passed by this strip mall on 6th Street and thought it was AJO.

Nope, it’s AIO Coffee Shop.

The sign is actually not a blackboard, but a lighted contraption that blinks.

I caught it when it was flashing green, then pink. Cool ~

Snowberry Sign now Elord in Koreatown

Thursday, September 24th, 2009

The Snowberry sign at the stripmall on the corner Western Avenue and Sixth Street has finally been replaced.

ELORD Sign in Koreatown, Los Angeles

Actually Snowberry was long ago replaced by Berry Nutty, but the Snowberry sign remained.

By the way!!! Berry Nutty itself has been replaced by an establishment called Yogo Zone. I took pictures last week before they were officially open. Today as I was quickly passing by, I noticed balloons strung up around the entrance, so they must be celebrating their grand opening now.

Elord is a Korean apparel company whose first stateside store was opened at this strip mall right next to Snowberry/Berry Nutty/Yogo Zone in December 2006.

Korean Name: 엘로드 (Eh-lord)
547 S Western Avenue, Los Angeles, California 90020
Phone number: (213) 382-1240

I’ll post more about the Yogo Zone store after a visit and some research.

Caketown Garden on Western Avenue

Saturday, May 30th, 2009

Technically north of Koreatown proper. It’s one block north of Wilshire Boulevard. 케익타운 가든

Caketown Garden on Western Avenue

Inside the strip mall on the corner of 6th Street and Western Avenue

The service people here are more attentive than at Paris Baguette, but there’s nothing remarkable about the baked products at Caketown Garden. Lots of cake made to order and different variants of individually packaged slices of kastera such as honey and corn. Good for when you need an inexpensive pastry fix that will set you back just $1.50.
