Figures coming in… In the year 2013, about 36 “Made in Korea” eateries were operating in the United States representing thirty-seven brands with 951 outlets.
Of the approximately 2,200 eateries / restaurant companies registered with the South Korean government, 95 have outlets operating overseas.
It was in 1991 when a South Korean eatery first established a branch overseas, and it wasn’t until 2009 that the number reached double digits with 12. In the year 2010, there were 11. In 2011, there were 17, and in 2012, there were 10.
