Korean BBQ Festival and Cook-Off
A barbecue festival in Koreatown this Saturday.
The first annual Korean BBQ Festival will be from noon to 8 p.m. at 3223 6th Street in Los Angeles. The cookoff itself will begin at five o’clock.
Among the judges of the KBBQ Cook-Off
- Jabba the Hutt, aka Tubby the Wine Snob
- LA Times Food Editor Russ Parsons
- Evan Kleiman, owner of Angeli Caffe on Melrose Avenue
- Herb Wesson, Los Angeles City Councilman, 10th district
- Michelle Eunjoo Park Steel, Republican member of the California Board of Equalization and currently the highest ranking Korean-American officeholder in the United States
Other festival events:
- eating contest with a mystery ingredient
- cooking demonstration of “How to Marinate Korean BBQ” by Monica Yang
- food stalls of restaurants selling their specialty dishes for $10-15 a plate
