Drunken Boss Karaoke Lounge Part of La Defense

Just noticed this sign today on Serrano Avenue — Drunken Boss under La Defense Restaurant and Karaoke. From what I gather, the Asian fusion restaurant is La Defense, and they’re rebranding the karaoke lounge as Drunken Boss.

After the recent murder at M2 Karaoke Bar and Cafe, the owners must have thought it wise to change the name.

M2 Karaoke Bar now Story I went near the front to find more clues about the change… but a car violently swerved to park right in front of me. Scared the bejesus out of me. Sensed it was the owner not liking the fact that I was taking pictures, so I turned around quickly and hightailed it out of there.

Latest Murder in Koreatown, Los Angeles

Koreatown is no stranger to crimes such as rapes and homicides. People are still talking about the latest murder that occurred at the M2 Cafe & Karaoke bar on 6th Street.

Michael Kim, 36 years old and of Anaheim Hills, was shot in the head by Louis Woo Lee, 22, after an argument that started inside M2 but violently ended outside. Kim was pronounced dead upon arrival at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, while Lee was arrested for murder and assault with a firearm. There was a second victim who fortunately survived and was released from the hospital.

The incident happened at 2:10 am on June 7, Sunday.

No one feels like doing karaoke at M2 anymore. Not that it was a great place to begin with…

A “butler button” is of course a given in all Korean restaurants. Yes, it’s also a liquor bar and restaurant serving Asian fusion, most Korean food.
